Blogging and marital sex

Blogging is quite definitely like marital sex. I know I mentioned this before, but it becomes more and more apposite. Lots of excited activity at first, then interest and energy tail off, and eventually you reach the point where you really can’t be bothered any more. Perhaps the answer at this point is to start a new blog? However I’m not very happy about the implications of this for the ethics of marriage…

  1. I prefer to think that if it works (most blogs last less than 6 months) what in fact happens is that you become more compentent and have a better understanding on how it all works and how to get the best out of it.

  2. I can see the analogy, however in my world it is probably one of the activities I engage in as a substitute activity, (engaging the brain rather than the body).

  3. I would say that many human activities follow this pattern; a stage is reached where the initial enthusiasm is spent, and discipline is required to keep going. Your blog is good; I would counsel you just to dig in and persevere.

  4. Not tonight dear, I’ve got writer’s cramp.

So many things I’m tempted to say, but can’t as my wife is also a wiblogger.
